In Miami, Marriott’s Doral Golf Resort & Spa has undergone a redesign in preparation for the property’s 50th anniversary in 2012. The resort features a new golf course and enhancements to two preexisting courses, upgrades to the 52,000-square-foot spa, and a new Latin-inspired steakhouse and lobby bar. The property offers 693 guest rooms and 110,000 square feet of event space.

Following a $34 million renovation, the historic La Posada de Albuquerque Hotel recently reopened in downtown Albuquerque as Hotel Andaluz. The boutique property offers 107 guest rooms and suites and 6,000 square feet of event space for groups of up to 150.  This spring, the hotel is slated to open a new indoor-outdoor bar called Ibiza.

In Florida, the Westin Beach Resort, Fort Lauderdale (formerly the Sheraton Yankee Trader) has opened following a multimillion-dollar renovation. The beachfront property offers 433 guest rooms, a fitness center, spa, three dining options and a 32,000-square-foot conference center.

The Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills has completed a $33 million renovation, which included the March opening of its new signature restaurant, Culina. All 285 guest rooms were updated as were its 4,000-square-foot ballroom, lounge area, its Cabana Restaurant and adjacent pool area.

On the Hawaiian island of Maui, the Honua Kai Resort & Spa on Kaanapali Beach has opened the Konea Tower, which offers 310 new guest suites and several new swimming pools. The hotel, which debuted in January 2009, has also opened a new restaurant, Duke’s Beach House. The property offers 3,000 square feet of meeting space on the hotel’s lobby level.

In Southern California, the Embassy Suites/Palmdale has opened 60 miles north of Los Angeles in the Antelope Valley. The hotel offers 150 guest suites, a fitness center, pool, restaurant, lounge and 3,032 square feet of meeting space.

The new Embassy Suites/Savannah-Airport has opened five minutes from Georgia’s Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport. The property features 162 guest suites, a fitness center, pool, restaurant, lobby with a bar and lounge, and 4,687 square feet of meeting space.

In downtown Nashville, construction has begun on the new Music City Center, which will serve as a venue for future conventions and expos. The 1.2 million-square-foot center plans to feature a 350,000-square-foot exhibit hall, more than 50 meetings rooms and two ballrooms. The project is scheduled to finish in early 2013.
